About

Nature is a cornerstone of America’s prosperity, safety, and resilience, but we need data to show its impact and value to ensure nature is considered more fully in decision-making.

Over the past 15 months, a Science for Nature and People Partnership working group of more than 40 researchers has been developing an estimate of the value of a suite of ecosystem services within the coterminous United States, ranging from pollination to water quality regulation, flood mitigation, air quality regulation, water provisioning, nature-based recreation, and urban cooling. The project developed high-resolution maps and valuation datasets for each of the ecosystem services examined, as well as economic valuations and beneficiary estimates.

Register for this National Ecosystem Services Partnership webinar to learn more about the project findings and how the individual ecosystem service assessments were completed, with a deep dive into water quality and provisioning, nature-based recreation, and grazing.
