About
Duke University inaugural Rubenstein Fellow Jim Rogers has spent the 2014-15 academic year teaching on energy and environmental issues, advising on the future of the utility sector, and mentoring students. The former Duke Energy CEO—reputedly one of the nation’s most progressive utility leaders, particularly on issues related to climate change, energy efficiency, and renewables—has now turned his attention to increasing energy access in the developing world through low-carbon solutions. He will discuss his work on energy access for the world’s 1.2 billion rural poor through the Global BrightLight Foundation and the ways in which he was able to make progress on environmental protection during his 25-year tenure at Duke Energy.
This talk is part of the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions and the University Program in Environmental Policy seminar series featuring leading experts discussing a variety of pressing environmentally focused topics.
