Catherine Coleman Flowers, founder of the Alabama Center for Rural Enterprise Community Development Corporation (ACRE), will present a talk titled "America's Dirty Secret: Living Amongst Raw Sewage" at Duke Oct. 24. The talk will be based on her recent experience representing the United States in international negotiations that determined the final texts of the Summary for Policymakers of each volume of IPCC’s 5th Assessment Report.

This talk is part of the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions and the University Program in Environmental Policy seminar series featuring leading experts discussing a variety of pressing environmentally focused topics. The Duke Human Rights Center at the Franklin Humanities Institute is also a co-sponsor.
